Setup Microsoft Authenticator app for multi-factor authentication (MFA)

Please Note: You will need to use your current method of MFA in order to switch to another method. If you are unable to use your current method, please call the IT Help Desk or visit the Technology Commons during our hours of operation

  1. Log in to MFAstatus.wcu.edu (We recommend using a computer browser on campus or off campus) 
  2. Click the Enroll in Enhanced MFA Protection button.  
  3. Log in to MFA Setup site
  4. Select Mobile App from the ‘Method’ dropdown. 
  5. Select Generate Activation Code 

6. On your phone: 

  1. Install Microsoft Authenticator (Android, iOS) on the device you would like to use for verification. Note: Device must have notifications turned on during setup. 
    1. In the app, tap + or Add Account to add a user.  
    2. Select Work or School Account. 
    3. Scan QRcode on browser setup page or click Enter Code Manually to manually enter code and URL. 

  

 7. On browser setup page, click Authenticate Me Now to test/finalize setup 

 

 8. When prompted, click approve in the app to finalize setup. 

 9. Setup security questions and click continue when finished. Note: Answers are case sensitive and must contain 4+ characters.
